Baptisms

Baptism (also called Christening) marks the start of membership of the Christian church. When parents decide to have a child baptised, they are declaring their intention to bring up the child as a Christian. Parents and Godparents must make various promises which make their Christian commitment quite clear. Baptism is also open to adults, in which case it is usually performed at a Confirmation service by the Bishop, following a course of study into the Christian faith. There is no charge for baptism - God's gift is free to all.

Baptisms can be either during one of our Sunday services or at a separate service in the afternoon. The first step is to contact Revd Julia Foster on 02380 410682 who will take some details and arrange for you to be contacted by the relevant member of the ministry team.
