ALL SAINTS PLANNING APPLICATION & PARKING - The planning application is going to have to be resubmitted due to an objection from the Parish Council and the Highways Dept. concerning parking and access. This is not an insurmountable problem and we hope to resubmit in the near future meeting the requirements. However, one issue which will not go away and is harming our case is parking in Church Close by church users. Despite several requests, some people, including members of our congregation, seem to think that it is OK to park in Church Close. Whilst it may be legal, it seriously aggravates our neighbours as there is limited space and room for access. Please, please do not park in Church Close at any time.

VISIT TO SOUTH RWENZORI, UGANDA John Cook and Richard James, (Houghton), are planning to return to South Rwenzori, our link diocese, probably in February next year. If anyone is interested in joining the team please contact John for more details and an informal, no strings chat. This is an opportunity to visit schools, churches and workshops and to experience life in a totally different but very welcoming culture. We guarantee your life will never be the same again!

HAS ANYONE SEEN OUR ARK?" Every first 1st Wed of the month 7.30 pm for 7.45 pm at St Marks church rooms, a series of 8 sessions looking at the Old Testament. All welcome. Next one on Wednesday 3rd September

WATER COMPANIES are ignoring churches' charitable status and starting to charge churches for the amount of area (i.e. roofs and car parks) that will collect rainwater and discharge it into the sewer network. This will effectively raise most churche's water bills by hundreds if not thousands of pounts. There is an online government petition that you can register on, please register and pass this information onto anyone else you think will sign it. The petition needs at lease 15,000 to be noitced and at present stands at about 4,300! Responses are needed as soon as possible. You can register your name on the petition by clicking on this link.......... http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ChurchWaterBills
