Community
We aim to serve the community in which we live by showing something of the love that God has for the people in this area. Our main work in the community comes from the daily living of our members as we offer our time and support to our neighbours. Many of our members are also involved in voluntary organisations, such as the CAB, Samaritans, Scouts and Guides and so on. As a church we also aim to identify needs in the community and try to help where we can:
Exploring Christian Faith
Ever wondered if there was more to life than meets the eye? Want to know more about being a Christian? Then this is the place for you. For dates please contact a member of the ministry team or see the church news sheet.
Fun
OK, not necessarily the first thing that you think of in association with churches, but have look, you might be surprised!
House Groups
These are groups that meet on a regular basis (often weekly) and usually run be the members. The meetings usually have a bit of prayer, bible study, social chat, coffee/tea and biscuits (with any luck!)
Julian Group
The Julian Group takes its lead and inspiration from the life and writings of Julian of Norwich. Here you will find a time and place of peace and contemplation, a refreshing change of pace from the daily hubbub.
Junior Church
We are blessed with a large number of children in our church, along with a talented group of leaders. There are fun activities for all primary aged children on a Sunday morning during term time.
Lunch Club
Provides a hot meal on a Monday lunch time. It is also a great opportunity for the senior citizens of the village to leave their homes for an hour or two and socialise. The Christmas Lunch is the highlight of the year!
Mission
Mission is one of the most important, if oft over-looked, activities of the church. Look here to find out about the practical ways in which we hope to grow in love for God and all people.
T Cup Cafe
A great venue and thriving success story for Thursday mornings. Fair Trade coffee, tea and homemade cakes. Well worth taking a break for a great cuppa and a good chat.
Wednesday Worship, Ampfield
Wednesday Worship is held At St Mark’s Room on Wednesday evenings at 7.45 pm. We meet for informal worship which is open to all. Members of the clergy and readers join us when they can. Volunteers prepare and run the worship and the theme usually relates to the current Christian calendar. On special occasions we celebrate communion. The worship lasts for about an hour and includes songs, bible readings, prayer and discussion. It concludes with tea/coffee and biscuits. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our evenings.
Over 60s Lunches, Ampfield
The Over 60s Lunches are usually held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 12.00 for 12.30pm in St Mark’s Room. A good chance to meet for a natter and a great meal, cost £3.50 per person. We each try to bring a small prize for the raffle. For the date of the next lunch in September, see the Ampfield Messenger. For further details contact Eve Earle on 01794 368488.
Silver Surfers, North Baddesley
Silver Surfers is a name used for those who are over 50 and would like to learn how to use the internet as well as other computer skills. We meet regularly on a Wednesday, there is a morning session 10.00 - 12 noon and an afternoon session 1 - 3 pm each held in All Saints church, North Baddesley.
